Injury reports
The Philadelphia 76ers should be missing reserve power forward Mike Scott  (knee) and backup center Vincent Poirier (health protocols).

The big question is, will MVP-candidate center Joel Embiid play? He usually sits out the back end of back-to-backs, and he was roughed up pretty good by Boston. Nothing official yet, but the best guess is you will not see him Saturday.

UPDATED: The Detroit Pistons come into the game pretty healthy but Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose will both be sitting out this game. Obviously, Killian Hayes is out, but they should be at full strength otherwise.

What their mental state is, might be another story, as they suffered their second straight tough loss to Houston.

"Betting tipsDetroit Pistons: They do not get blown out, they just lose in ways to rip the heart of their fans. How much is left in the tank after two tough losses will be the major question."

Philadelphia 76ers: The Sixers are good, real good, but they might not have Embiid, and they usually fall apart without him. They are 0-3 in games he did not play this season. If Embiid’s out, the pressure falls on Ben Simmons to produce, but since he only shoots layups and dunks, that is a thin reed to base an offense on. If no Embiid, 35-year-old Dwight Howard will probably start.

Best Bet (0-1): Go with Detroit and take the points.

This has ‘Trap Game!’ written all over it for the 76ers. They just played their biggest traditional rival twice, beat them, and had to immediately hop on a plane to face a 3-12 team. Last year, the Sixers would simply sleepwalk through a game like this and lose and not care. We will see if new coach Doc Rivers makes a difference.
