The Detroit Pistons had another great week if you are happy with them losing. The tank is going well, actually, as Detroit is the worst team in the league but is not playing like it.

They keep losing, sure (and this is a good thing remember) but they are doing it competitively and often with the young guys playing big minutes.

As long as this continues, fans of the Detroit Pistons will be happy, especially if we end up with the number one pick.

The Detroit Pistons lost four games this week but things are looking…. dare I say…. good?

Here are the trends for a week that saw four Pistons’ losses, improved lottery odds and a couple of veterans who are making themselves into trade pieces.

Detroit Pistons: trends after this week

Too Soon to Call

Both Sekou Doumbouya and Svi Mykhailiuk had nice games against the Philadelphia 76ers, but it is still too early to say they are trending in the right direction.

Both of them got minutes because Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose were sitting out, something I’d love to see more of as the season progresses.

There is no reason to play Blake Griffin in back-to-back games, especially when he is logging 33 minutes a game when he does play.

I hope Dwane Casey keeps using these opportunities to give Sekou and Svi more minutes, as the Pistons really need to know what they have in these two.

Mykhailiuk is on the final year of his deal and Detroit needs to see what they have as they try to decide whether to re-sign him.

Let’s hope this trend continues and that next week these two are in the buy section of the Pistons’ stock exchange.
