Detroit Pistons vs. Golden State Warriors: Injury report
The Detroit Pistons are about as healthy as they are going to be. Of course, Killian Hayes remains out with a torn labrum, but everyone else should be available, barring a load management decision for Derrick Rose or Blake Griffin.
The Warriors, of course, will be missing Klay Thompson the entire season with a torn Achilles. For this game, Golden State will also not have Marquesse Chriss (fibula fracture) and Alen Smailagic (right knee arthroscopy).
Pistons odds against Golden State Warriors on Saturday
Detroit Pistons: They are coming off maybe their biggest win of the season, a 15-point stomping of the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers. Wayne Ellington has been shooting like Steph Curry and Blake Griffin was actually somewhat like his old self vs. Lakers. However, this is the first leg of a 5-game road trip, and the first West Coast swing for a lot of the players.
Golden State Warriors: They are coming off a bad loss to an undermanned Houston Rockets team. Outside of the last-place Timberwolves, they have not won a game in a while. The Dubs need a Dub, badly.
Pistons odds best bet: (2-2): Go with Warriors to win the first half.
Golden State got embarrassed on national TV by Houston. They are back home and in need of a victory badly. I think they come out fired up. It will be one of those games where the Pistons will be making one of their patented big, second-half rallies, and we will see if it is good enough.
The first meeting was not that close. Curry and Andrew Wiggins killed the Pistons on transition. But that was early, this will be a good barometer of how far Detroit has come as a team.
