The Detroit Pistons hope that Blake Griffin continues to play well tonight against the Golden State Warriors.

Blake had his best game of the season in the win over the Lakers and there are some positive signs that he is starting to turn things around

Whether or not that will lead to a team wanting to trade for him is yet to be seen, but if Blake Griffin can continue to play well, it is a possibility.

There aren’t many teams in the NBA who might want to trade for Blake Griffin and his monster contract, but the Golden State Warriors could be one of them.

They are right in the thick of the Western Conference playoff picture and do not want to give away any Stephen Curry seasons even though Klay Thompson is out with injury.

The Warriors would still love to make the playoffs and might be willing to push some of their chips to the center of the table to do it.

Tonight’s game between the Detroit Pistons and Golden State Warriors could be Blake’s tryout.

Detroit Pistons: Could the Warriors trade for Blake Griffin?

I’ve said many times that it is unlikely the Detroit Pistons trade Blake Griffin this season, though it is not impossible. He only has one year left on his deal after this one, so some team might take a chance that Blake will bounce back physically and give them a solid season and a half.

The Golden State Warriors fit the profile of a team that might want Blake Griffin, as they have two big contracts in Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green, they are always looking for 3-point shooting and Blake could be the perfect stretch-five for them.

If Blake Griffin continues to shoot well from 3-point range, a team like the Warriors may decide he is worth the risk as a an offensive center or a guy who could carry the bench unit.

A Blake Griffin/Stephen Curry pick-and-roll could be very good and Blake would certainly be an upgrade from some of the guys they are running out there now.

Ideally, Blake Griffin will have his best game of the season against the Warriors that is enough to pique their interest.
