Detroit Pistons: Trading Derrick Rose to the Knicks

A lot of fans’ rightfully asked why in the world the Knicks would make such a trade.

My response was the same: Are you familiar with the New York Knicks?

If I were the Knicks I would run away from this deal as fast as possible but the Knicks are the Knicks so you can’t count on them to do the right thing.

Also, the Knicks are right in the thick of the playoff hunt in the Eastern Conference and they would desperately like to give their fans a reason to watch.

Derrick Rose gives them a marquee name and a guy who would help their bench. The Knicks might feel that they already have enough young players and are ready to try and start winning, in which case, they could make a move to get a veteran who can score.

If the Detroit Pistons can pry a first-round pick out of the Knicks or someone else, they will be ecstatic but Rose will either need to play better or there will need to be more teams involved to make it happen.

There is one other team that might be desperate enough to offer more.
