Detroit Pistons: Remember Will “The Thrill” Bynum?

Cartier Martin (2014-2015)

Besides having one of the coolest names in basketball, Martin was able to last seven years in the NBA despite limited playing time.

He spent his seventh and final season with the Pistons. No, Detroit did not expedite his departure from professional basketball.

Martin — a career 37-percent shooter behind the long line — was jacking up 3-pointers before it was cool. He was signed as a reserve to help shore up Detroit’s shooting woes but spent just 198 minutes on the court.

He has since made appearances in The Basketball Tournament.

Will Bynum (2008-2014)

We don’t judge by level of fandom here, but the long-standing Detroit Pistons fans know Will Bynum.

Bynum was known for his small stature and disproportionate bounce.

He played in Detroit for six seasons, primarily as a backup point guard. But Bynum etched his name into Pistons’ lore with some memorable performances.

He scored a franchise-record 26 fourth-quarter points in a matchup against the Bobcats in 2009.

In 2010, he notched a 20-assist game against the Wizards, becoming the only Pistons besides Isiah Thomas to reach that milestone.
