Detroit Pistons: Jodie Meeks was a total flop

Joel Anthony (2014-2016)

Anthony is one of the league’s great enigmas. Career averages of 2.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game may suggest a brief, low-impact career. Nope, Anthony had a 10-year career as a pro including two rings with the Big 3 Miami Heat.

The 6-foot-9, 245-pounder made his way to Detroit via a trade with the Celtics for Will Bynum. Anthony played the part of a bruiser, but it amounted to nothing more than a stopgap center on the bench.

He was later involved in a three-team deal that would have sent Donatas Motiejunas and Marcus Thornton to the Pistons, but the trade was rescinded following a failed physical.

Anthony now works as a player consultant for the Hamilton Honey Badgers of the Canadian Basketball League.

Jodie Meeks (2014-2016)

Meeks might conjure up some bad memories for Pistons fans.

He signed a 3-year, $19.5 million contract with Detroit, pennies now but was a fortune back then for a regular rotation player.

Coming off a 40-percent shooting year from 3 with the Lakers, Detroit signed Meeks to add an outside threat to the lineup. But Meeks’ contributions never met the price tag.

The oft-injured shooting guard suited up for just 63 games as a Piston before being traded to the Magic.
