Detroit Pistons: Derrick Rose, Mason Plumlee are stories to watch vs. Suns
The Detroit Pistons hit the road to take on the Phoenix Suns with several compelling storylines to follow, including the fate of Derrick Rose.
The Detroit Pistons are tanking as planned and things are going well, as they are competing every night, getting minutes for their young players and headed towards a chance at a top pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
The Phoenix Suns are in the thick of the Western Conference playoff hunt and have been very good since the bubble last season and even better since adding Chris Paul.
The Detroit Pistons have only won once on the road, so don’t expect a victory but there are still plenty of things to watch in the game.
Detroit Pistons: The health and trade status of Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose sat out the last game with what was reported as stomach issues.
There hasn’t been an update and he is still listed as day-to-day on the Pistons’ injury report. Rose played in the two games prior and didn’t appear to be injured, so let’s hope his stomach problems have gone away so he can get back into the lineup.
I am not a conspiracy theorist but my guess is that Rose will have other ailments that keep him out of games as the Pistons try to keep him healthy for a trade before the deadline.
If Rose plays, other teams will be watching as there are several that could use his services and might offer up an asset or two in a trade.
Derrick Rose’s health and trade status will be one of the storylines to follow until he is finally traded.
