Detroit Pistons vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Injury report

The Detroit Pistons might be missing Jahlil Okafor, who was out on Friday with a sore knee. Wayne Ellington is questionable with a right calf strain.  Of course, Killian Hayes remains out with a torn labrum. Derrick Rose should be back after sitting out the Suns game for load management.

The Lakers list LeBron James (left ankle sprain) and Anthony Davis (left knee contusion) as probable. Jared Dudley (right calf soreness) and Kostas Antetokounmpo (right knee patella tendinitis) are out.

Pistons odds against Los Angeles Lakers

Detroit Pistons: Except for the second half against Utah, Detroit has looked bad this entire Western swing. They simply can not generate enough scoring to keep up with good NBA teams. Somebody besides Jerami Grant needs to score in the 20s. They are also playing the back end of a back-to-back, while the Lakers had Friday off.

Los Angeles Lakers: Without Anthony Davis, the Lakers got run out of the gym the last time they played the Pistons. Detroit finished on a 16-0 run. You don’t think LeBron won’t want some payback

Pistons odds best bet: (5-2): Reality says a tired, poor playing Detroit team gets its doors blown off in this one. The safe thing to do is bet the Lakers to win the first quarter. Detroit is getting off to bad starts and the Lakers will want to make a statement.

Of course, reality is not the Pistons MO. If you want to bet on Pistons, take an alternative line and you can get Detroit +20. Root them on!

Detroit played its best game of the year (particularly Blake Griffin) when the clocked the Lakers. If they can rise to the occasion again, it should be a good game. If Ellington remains out, their offense can not shrivel up like it has the past three games.
