Detroit Pistons vs. Brooklyn Nets: Injury report

The Detroit Pistons will be missing Jahlil Okafor, with a sore knee. Of course, Killian Hayes remains out with a torn labrum. Wayne Ellington is questionable with a right calf strain.  Delon Wright is questionable with a left ankle strain, Frank Jackson is questionable with an illness and Dennis Smith Jr. is questionable due to health & safety protocols, so don’t count on him seeing him make his debut yet.

The  Nets have a long list of people unavailable, led by Kevin Durant, who can’t play, basically, because the NBA says so. Also out are Nicolas Claxton (right knee tendinitis), Spencer Dinwiddie (torn ACL), Reggie Perry (at G-League) and Iman Shumpert (health protocols). Kyrie Irving is probable with a sprained finger.

Pistons odds against Brooklyn Nets

Detroit Pistons: After an incredible effort against the Lakers, Detroit goes right back to face another team that is one of the favorites to make the NBA finals. A lot of people think the Pistons have a chance. After opening at +9.5, the line (as of 11:30 am) has gone down to +6.5

Brooklyn Nets: No Durant but Kyrie Irving should be back to join fellow future Hall of Famer James Harden in the lineup. The Nets are not deep, having traded away most of their bench in Harden trade. Former Piston Bruce Brown is one of their top reserves.

Pistons odds best bet: (6-3):

Wrong last time, I said bet Lakers for first quarter, should have said first half. Did say bet Pistons getting 20 points. If did that, you had relaxing night as they were never going to lose by that much.

The money is going the Pistons way. If can still get +6.5 go for it, but bet lightly. No Ellington or Rose and Smith not playing yet, does leave Detroit light in the back court.

Next. Detroit Pistons: Derrick Rose is gone. What’s next?. dark

Detroit is finally home after a long road trip. This is the first game of the post-Derrick Rose era. The Nets have been wobbly of late. Should be interesting. Even for a tanking team, the Pistons are due for a win.
