Detroit Pistons: Should the Pistons re-sign Svi Mykhailiuk?

Mykhailiuk is set to be a restricted free agent at the end of the season which will be one of the more intriguing subplots to follow.

Svi has not shot the ball well this season, but he is a 37 percent 3-point shooter for his career and has the size to play multiple spots on the perimeter.

If Mykhailiuk can be a 40 percent 3-point shooter then he will have value for the Detroit Pistons or someone else.

But what kind of contract will it take to retain him?

The Detroit Pistons will have to wait until the end of the season to get a gauge on what Mykhailiuk’s value is and if they can keep him on a cheap contract I am sure there will be interest.

But there might be interest from other teams as well, as everyone is trying to find shooting and Mykhailiuk is still young. If another team or two got involved, I could see the Pistons walking away, as they might not be comfortable going into the 3 years/ $27 million range for a guy who is still unproven.

It will be interesting to see what he eventually gets but his chances of getting a bigger deal just improved with Rose out of the picture.
