Detroit Pistons: Could Svi Mykhailiuk be a trade asset?

If Mykhailiuk takes advantage of the extra minutes and starts playing well, the Detroit Pistons might find that he has trade value at the deadline.

Of course, if he is playing well the Pistons might just decide to try and keep him but if they don’t think he is part of the long-term plans then why not try to get something of value in return?

The Pistons are already light on shooting, so trading Mykhailiuk wouldn’t help their short-term chances but some contender might decide his shooting is worth the gamble of a future draft pick.

It’s unlikely the Pistons would get much for Mykhailiuk unless he really blows up in the next few weeks and shows he can be an elite shooter consistently.

If he plays well enough he might suddenly find himself on a contender headed to the playoffs, so there are myriad ways that Mykhailiuk could benefit from the Derrick Rose trade.

The fate of Svi Mykhailiuk will be one of the more interesting narratives to follow as the season unfolds and the March trade deadline approaches.
