The Detroit Pistons are a rebuilding team but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be buyers at the trade deadline.

Being that Detroit is not exactly a free-agent hotspot, they need to acquire their talent through the draft and savvy trades.

Troy Weaver has done a great job in the draft so far and has gotten promising returns in trades, including snagging Dennis Smith Jr. from the Knicks in exchange for Derrick Rose.

There is one younger player who could be on the Pistons’ trade deadline wishlist, as he is a native from Michigan and would instantly be a fan favorite if he were to come to Detroit.

Miles Bridges finds himself with a new role in Charlotte after they splashed out big money for Gordon Hayward and may be available for the right deal.

Charlotte is a few years ahead of Detroit in their rebuild and right in the thick of the playoff race in the Eastern Conference behind strong play from rookie point guard LaMelo Ball.

Would the Charlotte Hornets be willing to move Bridges? What might it take to get him?

Detroit Pistons: Trading for Miles Bridges of the Charlotte Hornets

The Hornets are an in-betweener team right now, as they are currently in 10th position but just a a half game out of the final playoff spot.

They have enough talent to make a push for the playoffs and could add a couple of guys who would help their effort without sacrificing the future.

Here is a trade that might get the conversation started.

In this trade, the Hornets take back two shooters to add to their depth and get the Pistons two 2021 second-round picks, including their own back from Detroit.

Would this be enough to pry away Bridges? Let’s take a look.
