Detroit Pistons: Trading for Miles Bridges of the Hornets

Miles Bridges’ numbers are down across the board since the Hornets acquired Gordon Hayward, who was a borderline All-Star and plays the same position.

If they don’t think Bridges is part of the long-term plans, it makes sense to try and move him for assets, as he is young and has some value on the open market.

How much value is the real question, as they certainly might be able to get more for a guy who averaged 13 points and 5.6 rebounds last season.

But those numbers are down this season, though Bridges has been a better 3-point shooter. He is also just 22-years-old, so the Hornets may think it’s too soon to move on from Bridges, who could still end up being part of their core.

They would probably be looking for a first-round pick in return and the Detroit Pistons would at least have to consider that counter offer, especially if the pick were heavily protected and was to be conveyed down the road after they have already met their obligation to Houston.

Would Charlotte be interested in some veteran shooting in Ellington and to take a flyer on the future of Svi Mykhailiuk? Mykhailiuk could be a nice fit in Charlotte, as they would love to add even more shooting around Ball and Svi has shown he can be that guy though he’s been largely inconsistent this season.

This trade would allow the Hornets to add more depth for this season while clearing up some cap space for next and getting two second-round picks as well.

They might not hang up the phone but what about the Pistons?
