Detroit Pistons: Will Jerami Grant play?

One of the big questions heading into the All-Star break is around the health of Jerami Grant.

It’s hard to say if he is actually injured or if the Detroit Pistons are just using a minor injury as a way to keep him out of games in an effort to lose them.

It didn’t work last night, as the Raptors had even more guys out and couldn’t make up for it against a spirited effort by the Pistons.

This could also be the last time we see several Pistons with the team, as it is possible that players like Wayne Ellington could be shipped out during the break.

It’s more likely that the Pistons will keep him until just before the deadline, but teams will use the days off to make their calls, so the Pistons might end up shipping one or more of the veterans off while they are not playing.

There isn’t much sense in waiting, as the Pistons need to accelerate their tank and getting rid of Ellington, Delon Wright, Svi Mykhailiuk and maybe even Mason Plumlee (unlikely) would help that effort.

It will probably be another shorthanded night against the Knicks and who sits out could give us an idea of which guys might be traded.
