Detroit Pistons 2021 NBA Draft Profile: Evan Mobley

With All-Star weekend just around the corner, the Detroit Pistons are at the halfway point in their season. Due to the delayed start to the NBA season, this year’s All-Star game leads right into the biggest month of the college basketball season: Championship Weekend. Conferences from all over the nation will begin their tournaments with the hope of punching their ticket in this year’s big dance.
Currently holding the second-worst record in the NBA, the 10-25 Pistons have been a pleasantly entertaining team composed of many young and energetic players.
With Killian Hayes still sidelined with a hip injury and Delon Wright out with a groin injury, head coach Dwane Casey has deployed rookie Saben Lee and recently acquired Dennis Smith Jr. to take over the point guard position for the time being.
Saddiq Bey has looked like the best draft pick by the Pistons this year. Isaiah Stewart, better known as “Beef Stew”, has become a fan favorite and Jerami Grant has become one of the favorites to win the Most Improved Player award this year.
As the Pistons season progresses and the likelihood of a high lottery pick increases, fans from the Motor City need to familiarize themselves with those who may be the next top prospect to join the Pistons in the 2021-2022 season.
In my last draft profile, I detailed how Cade Cunningham can be a productive addition to the Detroit Pistons for their future. Sitting atop most NBA draft boards alongside Cunningham is a seven-foot center who can add more depth to the frontcourt of the Pistons moving forward.
USC freshman center Evan Mobley is a captivating prospect who can turn into one of the premier big men on both ends of the court in the NBA.
