Detroit Pistons: Would the Celtics make a huge offer for Jerami Grant?

Like I said before, this would go against character if the Celtics did something like this, as they seem to be content building from within and simply sustaining long-term success.

But the fans are getting restless, as Boston has been doing this for a LONG time and fans want to see them win now, not later.

They are just 19-17 on the season, which is good for the 4th-seed in the awful East, but I don’t think anyone that has watched this team sees a title contender, especially since they have already lost to the Pistons twice.

This would be a move to keep the fans happy and show that the Celtics were willing to do what it takes to win now, even if that means sacrificing some of the elusive future that they have long dangled in front of their increasingly impatient fans.

But Ainge has never shown that he listens to what the fans think and there are some questions about Grant’s fit on a team that already has two star forwards in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Is Grant really the guy Ainge would finally break the bank to go after? I don’t see it, but if he thinks Grant can be the final piece to a championship roster, then the Celtics may go for it.

Even if they did, would the Pistons say yes?
