The Detroit Pistons will take on the Charlotte Hornets in the first game of the second half and there are some interesting bets to make.

The Pistons are giving six points and have been a feisty team this season, so if you think it will stay close, bet the points, though I am never a fan of taking the points in an NBA bet as the scores can fluctuate too much in the last few minutes of the game.

Detroit also hasn’t won much on the road, so I’d stay away from betting the winner. This might be a good game to bet the under, which is set at 221.5, as both teams could be a bit rusty after a few days off and the Pistons have played better defense as of late.

Their offense has also been terrible, so if you like to bet over/unders (I do not) then the under is probably the smart play, though it is a miserable way to watch the game.

Here are three bets from the Pistons vs. Hornets that I do like, but remember that I am not a professional, so take this advice with a grain of salt and always bet responsibly.

Pistons vs. Hornets: LaMelo Ball will have more than 30.5 combined points, rebounds and assists

LaMelo has played like a guy the Pistons should have traded up to get, but that is all history now. He is only averaging 28.1 combined points, assists and rebounds for the season, but Ball has gone off as of late and beaten this mark in six straight games.

The Pistons will be marking him with Dennis Smith Jr. and Saben Lee, so expect Ball to continue this streak and have another big night.

Pistons vs. Hornets: Saddiq Bey will have more than 16.5 combined points and rebounds

This is just playing the statistics, as Bey has been solid in these two areas going way back. In the last 15 games, he has eclipsed 16.5 total points and rebounds 10 times. Though he has been shooting the ball poorly as of late, he’s been grabbing plenty of boards to make up for it.

Bey would like to continue to climb the Rookie Ladder and I’m betting he will have a big night against the Hornets.

Detroit Pistons vs. Hornets: Mason Plumlee will have a steal

You only need the Plumdog to get one steal to win this bet, though he has only done that once in the last six games. He will be matched up some on PJ Washington and Bismack Biyombo, two guys who cough up a fair number of turnovers, so I have a hunch this will be the night Plumlee gets one steal.

If you want to keep playing the percentages then bet against this, as Plumlee averages less than a steal per game.

The Detroit Pistons continue to be a fun team to watch and gamble on, even if they are not winning many games.
