Detroit Pistons: 3 things to watch vs. the Brooklyn Nets
Detroit Pistons: Are the Nets done making moves?
The Brooklyn Nets have been involved in a number of trade rumors leading up to the deadline, and on paper there might be a fit with the Detroit Pistons.
The Pistons have several veterans that would be nice depth additions to the Nets, including Wayne Ellington, Delon Wright, Svi Mykhailiuk and even Mason Plumlee, although the latter two are less likely to be traded.
This would be a good time for Ellington and Wright to have big games against a contending team, as the Pistons could find themselves orchestrating a bidding war for their services, which would be the ideal situation.
The Nets, 76ers and Celtics will likely be in an arms race leading up to the deadline, as all fancy themselves contenders who might need a couple of depth pieces for the stretch run.
None of the Pistons’ veterans are game-changing talents but all them could add quality depth to a contender that might want some additional bench insurance, especially if they are dealing with injuries, as the Nets almost always are.
If the Pistons could net a package that included a young project player or a pick for their two veteran guards then they would have to consider it.
Could the Nets be involved? It’s possible and something worth watching.
