Detroit Pistons: 3 things to watch vs. the Brooklyn Nets
Detroit Pistons: The Pistons need to lose to keep pace
The Detroit Pistons do not want to fall out of the bottom three of the NBA this season. This season has been nice for development, but losing sucks and it won’t be worth it if the Pistons end up with another middling pick in the draft.
This is one of the most difficult stretches in the Pistons’ second half schedule, which is one of the easiest in the NBA overall.
This is not the time to get cheeky and win a game against one of the best teams in the East, but it would be very Pistons-like to do so since most of their wins have come against good teams.
The Pistons tend to play their best against the best teams, which is a good thing for the development of team chemistry and their young players but not so good for their draft status, as these are the games they should and must lose.
The Timberwolves finally won a game last night, so the Pistons picked one up in their quest for the worst record, but the Rockets and Magic continued their epic tank jobs, so Detroit has to watch out, as those two teams are headed to the bottom with gusto.
I would be happy with another competitive loss coupled with some unexpected wins for the Rockets and Magic for the next few days, and if the Timberwolves could win their next one and go on a bit of a run, even better.
The Detroit Pistons’ season will not be measured in wins, so it has been a success so far and they hope to keep it up against the Nets.
