Possible Detroit Pistons draft picks: Gonzaga vs. Oklahoma

Prospects to watch: Jalen Suggs, Corey Kispert, Joel Ayayi (Gonzaga)

Gonzaga has a trio of players who might interest the Detroit Pistons depending on where they fall in the draft.

Jalen Suggs is part of the consensus top-five and some have him ahead of Cade Cunningham on their big boards so is is possible he will be the number one overall pick. He is a big point guard who does a little of everything and projects as a possibly elite defender in the NBA.

His teammate Corey Kispert is another guy who could be in the Pistons’ range if they fall in the draft. He is an older prospect but has the a skillset the Pistons need as he can shoot the ball as well as anyone in the draft, has good size and could play multiple spots in the NBA.

Guard Joel Ayayi came back for his junior season and is probably glad he did, as he put up nice numbers, especially rebounding and has shown himself to be a versatile combo/guard who can do a little of everything and will be a nice addition to someone’s bench.

He is projected to go early in the second round, so the Pistons might not get a shot at him but if he falls, he has the toughness and defense that Detroit might covet in a shooting guard prospect.

The Detroit Pistons are focused on finishing their season strong and continuing to develop their young guys, but one eye will be on future talent that could join the team in this year’s draft.
