Detroit Pistons: Josh Jackson bounces back

Josh Jackson must have gotten tired of hearing about Hamidou Diallo for the last couple of games. Diallo has had a great start for the Pistons and many were starting to question if Jackson would have a future role.

Both players are very similar and have similar strengths and weaknesses, the biggest being that they struggle shooting from range.

Jackson has been a terrible 3-point shooter this season but has kept getting minutes because of his defensive energy and versatility.

He brought the whole package last night against the Wizards, scoring a career-high 31 points, adding four assists and most importantly, only one turnover.

Jackson averages more turnovers than assists, which has been one of his big problems this season, so it was nice to see him reverse the ratio for once.

Jackson also knocked down four of his seven 3-point shots which has been another big weakness this season. Until he proves he can do this consistently, I’d still rather not see Jackson jacking up seven shots from long range, but he was feeling it last night against the Wizards.

Jackson vs. Diallo is going to be one of the most interesting positional battles for the Detroit Pistons down the stretch and the Pistons will have some tough decisions to make at the end of the season if they decide they can’t keep them both.
