Detroit Pistons: 3 takeaways from the loss to the Nuggets
The Detroit Pistons got down early and stayed down against the Denver Nuggets on the second game of a back-to-back.
Rookie Killian Hayes sat out for precautionary reasons after having one of his better performances as a professional in just his second game back from injury.

Dwane Casey inexplicably used nearly his entire roster again, a habit which is getting a bit baffling (more on that later) as the Pistons are 2/3 of the way through the season and still have no idea who the starters or rotation should be.
Jerami Grant had a big night against his old team and Saddiq Bey added 25 points but it wasn’t enough, as the Nuggets put an end to end beatdown on the Pistons, who picked up a game on the Timberwolves for the NBA’s worst record.
There were some positives to the game but also some head-scratching lineups and minutes once again.
Detroit Pistons: Saddiq Bey makes history from the 3-point line
Rookie Saddiq Bey made 6-of-12 from behind the arc on his way to a 25 point night overall.
Bey entered the game needing just one 3-pointer to break Brandon Knight’s Pistons’ rookie record for a season. It didn’t take long for him to get it.

Not only that, but by hitting six 3-pointers, Bey now has four games of six or more for the season, which is an All-Time record for NBA rookies.
Obviously, players are shooting a lot more long-range shots than they used to but this is still an impressive record, especially considering Bey is on the team with the third-worst record in the league.
Bey and Isaiah Stewart have both been impressive this season and along with Killian Hayes, have given the Pistons one of the best young cores in the Eastern Conference.
