The Detroit Pistons notched their 16th win of the season last night, which has some fans nervous.

The Pistons are clinging onto the 3rd-worst record in the NBA after their win, just 1.5 games “ahead” of Orlando and now 1.5 games “behind” 2nd-worst Houston.

The Detroit Pistons have been one of the most entertaining bad teams off all time, as they play hard every night and are getting big contributions from their young guys.

Saddiq Bey could set the all-time rookie record for 3-point shots this season.

Isaiah Stewart is leading all rookies in rebounds, blocked shots and field goal percentage while playing like a modern Ben Wallace, and Killian Hayes has shown renewed confidence since returning from injury.

All this could add up to the Pistons winning some games down the stretch and dropping out of the top five in the draft, which is the worst-case scenario for fans who have been dreaming about adding a potential superstar from this year’s draft.

But don’t fret just yet, as the Pistons have a tough remaining schedule that should keep the tank alive.

Detroit Pistons: Remaining schedule is not easy

The Pistons have 20 games left and may not win many of them.

The next six games will be telling, as the Pistons play the Trail Blazers before back-to-back games against the Clippers, which will likely be three losses in a row before playing the Thunder, Wizards and Cavaliers, all teams they can beat.

After that? It gets pretty tough for the Pistons.

They’ll have five games in a row against teams that are in or near the playoffs before playing the Magic in what might be the biggest game of the season for the tank.

They’ll then finish the final seven games with only two against the Bulls and Timberwolves where they’ll not be big underdogs.

If the Pistons win against the tankers and lose against the good teams, they will get 4-5 more victories for the season, which should be enough to keep them where they are in the bottom three.

Of course, the Pistons have played better against good competition this season and their guys are not going to lay down for anyone, so they could net a few more wins along the way.

The 2021 lottery will take care of itself and as long as the Pistons can stay in the top-five, fans will be happy.

It’s possible that the Detroit Pistons could have a best-case scenario where they play hard all season, get quality developmental minutes for their young players and still end up with a top pick.

So sit back and enjoy these final 20 games, which should be full of drama and entertainment one way or another.
