It seems like Saddiq Bey has been making history all season for the Detroit Pistons.

Most recently, he set the Pistons’ all-time rookie record for made 3-pointers and he has an outside chance of breaking the all-time NBA record as well.

His sharp shooting and tough defense have drawn comparisons to guys like Ron Artest and Jimmy Butler but the truth is that Saddiq Bey is carving out a path all his own.

The 3-point shot has obviously become more prolific over the last few seasons, so it’s not surprising that Bey chased down the Pistons’ record, but his volume and accuracy have put him at the top of an elite list that is impressive regardless of era.

Detroit Pistons: Saddiq Bey on the verge of NBA record

According to CBS Sports, Saddiq Bey is the most accurate rookie 3-point shooter of any player who took at least six attempts.

He averages exactly six 3-pointers per game and is shooting 37.9 percent, which is currently the best in NBA history.

When you look at the other names on the list this accomplishment is even more impressive, as it includes four guys who are current or future Hall of Famers.

Damian Lillard is second on the list, followed by Allen Iverson, Donovan Mitchell and Luka Doncic, not bad company to be in.

When you consider Bey is also the only of these names to be chosen outside of the lottery and it is clear the Detroit Pistons found something special with the 19th pick in the draft.

I would also be neglecting my duties not to point out that the Pistons could have had two players on this list if they had just taken Mitchell over Luke Kennard.

One thing is for certain, Bey is already better than Kennard and the Pistons definitely made the right choice when they shipped Kennard to the Clippers in exchange for the draft rights to Bey, a move the Clippers certainly regret.

Saddiq Bey is claiming a spot in NBA history and one of the things to watch for the rest of the season is just how many rookie records he can chase down.
