Detroit Pistons: Isaiah Stewart and DeAndre Jordan

Stewart has already been compared to Ben Wallace, and for good reason. Both are low output scorers with massive defensive upside and rebounding skills.

However, true defensive specialists are hard to come by in today’s league. Even Rudy Gobert and Draymond Green can pass and score at a high rate. Hopefully, Stewart develops a more well-rounded game, in which case he could turn into a DeAndre Jordan clone.

Much like the Rondo and Hayes comparison, Jordan and Stewart are obviously not perfect replicas of each other. Stewart averages more points (6.6) and rebounds (5.9), but the block numbers are identical. Jordan also received significantly less playing time during his rookie season.

Both of them are very efficient scorers, despite the low scoring numbers. Stewart, thankfully, is a much better free-throw shooter, although Jordan is one of the worst all-time at that category, so that really isn’t saying much.

If Stewart plays the same way DeAndre Jordan did during the Lob City era, Pistons fans should be incredibly happy. If the career arc is the same, they have an all-star caliber player for about a decade and a solid role player after that.
