Detroit Pistons: Isaiah Stewart looks like the best rookie center

One bright spot from the game was the play of Isaiah Stewart, who had another monster game against the Wizards.

Stewart notched 19 points and added 12 rebounds one night after getting 15 and 21 against the Thunder.

He had another two blocks, another made 3-pointer and is playing a like a guy who should absolutely be the first-team All-Rookie center this season.

The amazing thing is that Stewart is doing all this while only playing 20 minutes per game on average.

He is leading all rookies in rebounds, blocked shots and field goal percentage and looks like one of the biggest steals from last season’s draft, a guy who is drawing comparisons to everyone from Bam Adebayo to Ben Wallace.

On a night when not much went right for the Detroit Pistons, Beef Stew still brought his energy and “A” game, which is what you want to see from a guy who is clearly going to be the emotional leader of this team.

The Pistons did what they had to do, which is lose the game, but it was disheartening that they couldn’t have done it while getting more minutes for the young guys off the bench.
