After losing to the Charlotte Hornets last night, the Detroit Pistons are now alone with the second-worst record in the NBA.

Of course, this does not guarantee that they will get the 2nd pick in the draft, far from it, as the bottom three teams all have the same odds at a top-four pick and to get the top pick overall.

The Detroit Pistons have several needs heading into the offseason, but will use the NBA Draft to take the best player available.

Troy Weaver has shown his eye for talent this season, so I am confident he will make the right choice, though it is still unclear who the Pistons might regard as the top players from this draft.

For this Mock Draft, I used the current lottery positions without any mischief from the Lottery Gods, so the Detroit Pistons have the second pick.

We all know Cade Cunningham will likely go first and he would be nice fit with Killian Hayes, but who would the Pistons take if they got the second pick? Let’s take a look.

NBA Mock Draft 3.0: The Detroit Pistons get the 2nd pick

The Houston Rockets are likely to end up with the worst record in the NBA, as they are three games behind the Detroit Pistons with only eight games to go.

This doesn’t help their odds of getting a top-four pick or the number one overall but would guarantee them a top-five pick, which its he only reward of being the NBA’s worst team.

Though some people are trying to talk themselves out of Cunningham, he is still the consensus number one pick and the guy Houston will take if they end up here.

Houston is trying to kick off their rebuild with a superstar and Cunningham, who is from Texas, would be a home run for them.

It seems unfair that the Rockets should only be bad for half a season before they get a chance at another superstar but here we are.
