Detroit Pistons Mock Draft 3.0: Pick No. 17

Scouting Report. 17. 149. Pick Analysis. Forward. Stanford / OKC Thunder. Ziaire Williams. player

Williams is a polarizing prospect who is probably going to need a few years before he is ready to play at the NBA level.

This makes him a good match for the Thunder, who are hoarding high-end but raw talent and probably won’t be good for a long time.

Williams didn’t’ put up big numbers at Stanford but he has tantalizing size and athleticism at 6-foot-8 and profiles as a 3-and-D wing who could eventually be more depending on how his shot develops.

You never know what the Thunder will do but it makes sense for them to grab the guy with the highest ceiling even if he might not be ready, as they won’t be either.
