Detroit Pistons: Killian Hayes vs. Cole Anthony

One matchup I am really looking forward to is rookie point guard Killian Hayes taking on fellow rookie Cole Anthony.

Hayes has missed the chance to take on some of the best point guards in the league this season, as he missed most of it with injury.

Since returning he has been more confident, is passing the ball very well and is flashing defense that could be his calling card in the future, as Hayes can really get after it on the defensive end.

Anthony has had a very solid season for the Magic, averaging 13.4 points and 4.3 assists per game and has been even better over the last ten, when those numbers have shot up to 16.4 and 5.5 with five rebounds as well.

He hit a game winner in their last victory over the Grizzlies, so he’ll be riding high coming into Detroit.

Hayes has shown tenacious on-the-ball defense since his return and is averaging just under two steals a game in his last ten, so he will try to get in Anthony’s face and slow him down.

This will be a good test for Hayes and I expect he’ll be fired up and ready to go head-to-head against one of the better rookie point guards this season.
