Detroit Pistons: Sekou Doumbouya is getting better at the rim

Sekou Doumbouya has been getting regular minutes and is starting to look more comfortable.

He had one of his best games of this season against the Hornets and looked very good in the first half, finishing with 20 points and eight rebounds overall.

The main difference is that Doumbouya has been getting to the rim with more frequency.

Here you see him slashing to the hoop for a bucket and then going to work in the post, finishing with the left hand.

This is where Doumbouya can make a difference, as he is not a good enough shooter to just stand in the corner and shoot 3-point shots.

He also got out in transition a couple of times, picking up some easy hoops just by running the floor hard.

If Sekou Doumbouya wants to be in the rotation next season, this is how he will get there: Play tenacious on-the-ball defense and use your size and length to get to the rim.

It’s been a disappointing season for Doumbouya overall but he is starting to show some encouraging signs heading into the offseason, which will be the biggest one of his career.
