Detroit Pistons: Bey and Stewart are the only teammates on Rookie Ladder
The Detroit Pistons are a young team with an exciting future.
Jerami Grant thinks this team will “do something big” next season but just how big will depend largely on their two prized rookies, Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart.
Bey and Stewart have been two of the Pistons’ biggest draft steals of all-time, as they were both taken outside of the lottery and look like locks to make the All-Rookie team.
This draft class has been a lot better than predicted, largely because of guys like Bey and Stewart who have outplayed their draft position and have much higher ceilings than originally predicted.
I am Homer #1 but believe the Pistons will make the playoffs next season, and if they do, Bey and Stewart will play a big part.
If you want to know how bright the Pistons’ future is, you just have to take a look at this week’s KIA Rookie Ladder, ESPN’s weekly ranking of NBA rookies.
Detroit Pistons: Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart on the KIA Rookie Ladder
Both Bey and Stewart have become mainstays on the Rookie Ladder, as Bey has been there for most of the season and Stewart has not left since making his debut several weeks ago.
Bey has hovered around the 4-5 mark for most of the season and currently sits at 5th, while teammate Isaiah Stewart continues to impress and has climbed all the way up to the 6th rung on the ladder.
Considering all of the players ahead of them (except Jae’Sean Tate who is 25-years-old) were drafted in the lottery, Troy Weaver is looking like a genius after his first draft.
The Detroit Pistons are the only team with two players on the Rookie Ladder and there is a good chance that both will end up on the first-team All-Rookie squad when the season ends.
Things are looking up for the Pistons, who finally have some young talent to build around and hope to add even more in this year’s NBA Draft.
