Detroit Pistons: Who will play and what to watch vs. 76ers
Detroit Pistons: Is Sekou Doumbouya turning a corner?
It has only been a couple of games but Sekou Doumbouya has looked a lot more comfortable of late.
He credits this to knowing he is going to be in the game and playing freely without having to look over his shoulder every time he makes a mistake.
I also think some credit has to be given to the work he has obviously been putting in behind the scenes, as he has looked a lot more comfortable, especially around the rim.
As much as fans were angry at the Pistons last win, it came with Doumbouya having some quality moments including getting a steal and breakaway dunk to seal the game.
Yes, I definitely want the Pistons to have the best possible odds of getting a top-four pick, but I am also glad that young players like Doumbouya are starting to show development and build confidence in the occasional win, so it is a good trade off in my opinion.
Doumbouya has scored 20 and 14 in his last two games and has had a few nice takes around the rim that show flashes of what he can be with a full offseason and training camp to aid his development.
He is still only 20-years-old, so these games are important for his confidence and development moving forward.
We won’t know how or if any late-season wins are going to affect the Detroit Pistons on lottery night but we know these reps will be important for their young players.
