Detroit Pistons: The rookies are finishing strong

It’s too bad that Isaiah Stewart is sitting this one out, as he and the rest of the Pistons’ rookies have all been playing well of late.

Killian Hayes has had his two best games of the season, being more aggressive looking for his shot and flashing an exciting all-around game.

Saddiq Bey is not going to get the rookie record for 3-point shots made, which sucks because he’s had ten fewer games to do it and almost certainly would have under normal circumstances. He did pass Stephen Curry on the list, which is a pretty impressive feat.

Even though he’s played big minutes this season, Bey has not hit a rookie wall and is averaging 16 points and 7.4 rebounds over his last ten games.

Hayes has been averaging 7.7 points, seven assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals over his last ten, so he too has gotten stronger as the season has gone on.

Saben Lee has gotten in on the action as well, scoring 6.4 points and adding 4.4 assists in his last ten, and was particularly impressive in the last two.

It’s great to see the Pistons’ rookies progression, and all of them have gotten much better as the season has gone on, a testament to their work ethic and preparation, especially considering they didn’t even have a full offseason to get ready.
