Detroit Pistons: NBA Draft prospect Jeremiah Robinson-Earl

Villanova has a reputation for producing NBA-ready talent, as they have recently with Josh Hart and Saddiq Bey.

Villanova plays a pro style, and puts an emphasis on defense, so Jay Wright’s guys generally know how to play the game, don’t make a lot of mistakes and enter the league ready to defend.

Robinson-Earl profiles as a similar player to Bey, as he has good size, can defend, is versatile and is a good rebounder. Here you can see his positioning and basketball IQ on a couple of offensive boards.

Like Bey, the knocks against Robinson-Earl are that he is not an elite athlete and doesn’t have one flashy skill. Unlike Bey, JRE is not known as much of a shooter, and will have to add range to his jumper if he wants to compete for a roster spot next season.

But compete he will.

JRE is one of those guys who does everything pretty well, can run the floor, is a good playmaker for his size and has the potential to be a very good defender.

He is a perfect glue guy, who can come off the bench, play with just about anyone and will always give 100 percent effort.

If he can evolve as a shooter, JRE is going to have a long career in the NBA as a defense/hustle 3-and-D player.
