Why Michigan’s Chaundee Brown would be a perfect fit for Detroit Pistons

Three-and-D guys fit into any team, but for the Detroit Pistons, in particular. Brown would really help both starters and second unit guys in the role the team wanted Svi Mykhailiuk to inhabit.

His three-point shooting opens up the floor for Killian, Hamidou Diallo, Sekou, Beef Stew, Plumlee, and Josh Jackson, who all either do not shoot threes or whose three-point shot is a work-in-progress.

Brown’s defense would benefit the team even more, in my opinion. Brown possesses the quickness Saddiq, Killian, and Sirvydis lack, the size Saben Lee does not have as a guard defender, and it even takes some defensive burden away from the top dawg Jerami Grant, to direct more of his energies to expanding his offensive game further.

It appears Brown is not on many draft boards, so I believe he would be available at the end of the second round. And if you could get a three-and-D wing at the end of round two, I think that would be a major steal for the team.

Slot Chaundee Brown into multiple lineup combinations, drop him in the G League from time to time to work on those ball skills, and then reap the benefits of a key rotation piece in a few short years.
