Detroit Pistons: NBA Mock Draft 4.0 pick No. 14

Baylor / Golden State Warriors. 41. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Guard. Jared Butler. 14. player

I could definitely see the Warriors trading this pick, as they have Klay Thompson returning, and think they can be right back in the championship hunt with the right offseason moves.

If the Warriors can trade for another veteran contributor, then they probably will, as they already have youngster James Wiseman and really don’t need any more rookies while Stephen Curry is still there and playing at a high level.

If they do use the pick, it makes sense to take a guy who can defend and pick up some of the scoring they are likely to lose if Kelly Oubre leaves.

Butler is a good defender and 3-point shooter already, so he would fit right in with what Golden State needs and give them another weapon as a shooter, as he hit 41.6 of his long-range shots on a high volume.

Butler could end up being one of the steals of the draft, as he has all of the tools to be a two-way contributor.
