Detroit Pistons 2020 Draft: Pick number seven

Original pick: Killian Hayes

New pick: Isaiah Stewart or Saddiq Bey

It is too early to definitively say anything about this 2020 draft class. In the first year under Troy Weaver, the Pistons selected Killian Hayes seventh overall. Hayes was injured for most of the 2020-2021 season.

Given the opportunity to re-draft, Weaver likely would not change much. If anything he would select Bey or Stewart and make similar trades on draft day and target Hayes later in the draft.

Stewart and Bey proved to be two of the top players in this years’ rookie class, and given the opportunity for a re-draft, Weaver would likely draft one of them higher so no other teams can snatch them away.

To reiterate, it is still too early to pass final judgment on the 2020 draft class. At the end of next season, the re-drafted pick could very well still be Killian Hayes, but for now, Stewart or Bey would be the move.
