Detroit Pistons: Why the Pistons would trade for Brandon Clarke

The Pistons clearly have an idea in mind when it comes to building their roster. They want long, athletic wing types who can defend multiple positions.

They already have a few of them in Jerami Grant, Josh Jackson, Saddiq Bey and possibly Hamidou Diallo, but this is the most important position in basketball now, so why not more?

If Clarke was able to get a fresh start in Detroit in an expanded role, he might show he can do much more, as Grant did when he came to Detroit and went from role player to star.

Clarke is only 24-years-old, so the Pistons would get a chance to audition him on his rookie deal at a low cost.

They would only be giving up a G-League prospect, a second round pick and a late future first when they will hopefully be trying to make the playoffs and won’t need any more injection of young talent.

Clarke might give the Pistons the chance to buy low on a guy with big upside, which is something they will have to do if they want to build a championship roster without the advantage of free agency.
