The Detroit Pistons won just 20 games this season but there is hope on the horizon.

With four promising rookies in Killian Hayes, Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart and Saben Lee and a future All-Star in Jerami Grant, the Pistons’ cupboards are not bare and they are headed in the right direction.

But let’s be realistic, if the Pistons want to make the playoffs in the next few seasons they need internal improvements and/or upgrades in all of their positional groups.

The Detroit Pistons need some upgrades

There are four ways this can happen in the offseason:

  1. Homegrown Talent: Getting improvements from guys already on the team. This will obviously be the Pistons’ first and best option at this point.
  2. The NBA Draft: The Pistons have four picks in the upcoming draft and can use them to add more young talent or to make trades.
  3. Trades: The Detroit Pistons can use their assets to make trades
  4. Free Agency: The Pistons can supplement their roster with veteran free agents

The Detroit Pistons are finally rebuilding the right way, have a strong core of young talent and will look to make a huge leap next year as a team.

Here are four ways they can upgrade each position this offseason.
