The Detroit Pistons have four picks in the upcoming NBA Draft and could use them in many different ways.

They will certainly just take the best player available with their lottery pick, which will fall somewhere in the top six.

But they also have three picks in the second round, which they could use to try and find some of the shooting they need, to reach for raw talent, find a draft-and-stash candidate or even to trade up into the back of the first round.

The Pistons need more depth at center and may be able to find one in mystery man Alperen Şengün, who is one of the draft’s big unknowns but could be a steal if he falls to the Pistons in the second round (unlikely) or if they were willing to trade up to get him.

Detroit Pistons: The Pistons’ draft priorities

The Pistons main priority in the 2021 NBA Draft is to add as much impact talent as possible, it’s that simple.

Although the center position is probably not their top priority, as they already have Mason Plumlee, Isaiah Stewart and Jahlil Okafor under contract for next season, if Troy Weaver sees a chance to upgrade the position he will.

He could get that chance if mystery man Alperen Şengün falls to the Pistons or he is able to trade up to get him.
