For a team that finished with a record of 20-52, the Detroit Pistons have a lot to look forward to after the first year of their rebuild. General manager Troy Weaver did a great job of reshaping this roster with players who compete with high intensity on a game-by-game basis.

Despite a lot of losing in this shortened season, the Pistons played competitive basketball for much of the 2020-21 regular season.

The Detroit Pistons are entering the next stage of their rebuild

As they enter year two of the Weaver era, the Pistons hope to enter the next stage of their rebuild by further developing their young talent, bringing back key free agents, and landing a top-three draft choice in this year’s NBA Draft Lottery.

The Pistons have a promising future ahead of them, but that does not mean the roster is without its uncertainties. Whether it is reaching their full potential, showing they can have an impact as a part of the team’s rotation, or showing they can be consistent, every player on Detroit’s roster has something to prove next season.
