Heading into the 2021 NBA Draft, the Detroit Pistons hold three picks in the second round. This early in the draft process, there has only been speculation as to what general manager Troy Weaver is looking to do with those picks.

Heck, until June 22, the Pistons do not even know what position they will draft in the first round.

However, based on a report by The Athletic‘s James Edwards III (PAID SUBSCRIPTION ONLY), one player has started to emerge as a potential target.

Toledo’s Littleson intriguing to Detroit Pistons?

Littleson is certainly an intriguing prospect in this year’s draft.

A Michigan native, after graduating from Rochester Adams High School, Littleson spent his first year of college basketball playing for the Duquesne Dukes during the 2016-17 season.

The 6-foot-4 guard would have to sit out his second year after deciding to transfer to the University of Toledo. Littleson, who was born in Rochester Hills, would spend the next three seasons with the Toledo Rockets and would see his numbers improve each year.

Littleson went from 4.2 points per game in his first season at Toledo to 13.4 points per game in his final season as a fifth-year senior.

While garnering a workout with the home state team does not guarantee that the Pistons will select Littleson with one of their second-round picks, but it does mean that the shooting guard has grabbed the attention of Weaver and the Pistons’ front office.

The 23-year-old is an under-the-radar player as he does not appear on many media big boards for the upcoming draft. However, his potential as a ‘Three-and-D’ wing will gain him some traction as a possible second-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

In Detroit, Littleson could become a solid role player after spending a season or two for the Motor City Cruise in the G-League to further develop his game. As a second-rounder, he will not become a future superstar, but he could be a solid contributor for the Pistons, if he were to be drafted by them.
