Detroit Pistons: Spencer Littleson could fill a bench role one day

After his workout, Troy Weaver and the Detroit Pistons could very easily decide they will pass on Littleson come draft day. They could also decide that the 23-year-old is a part of the team’s future, and could look to take him if he falls to the right slot in the draft.

As a three-and-D prospect, Littleson does not project to be much more than a role player coming off the bench if he has an NBA career.

He is not much of a threat from anywhere besides beyond the three-point line, and while that is fine for a role player, it does not lend itself to him becoming anything more. His lack of playmaking will also limit him to being a spot-up shooter on the offensive end of the court.

Of course, Littleson could be a very useful player for the Pistons.

The Michigan native would aid in improving Detroit’s three-point shooting, and he could become a solid player off the bench in the coming years.

He will likely need to spend at least a year in the G-League but, as a second-rounder, he could work himself into Detroit’s rotation one day.

Detroit could take Littleson with one of their second-rounders in the upcoming draft. They could also look to pick him up in free agency if he were to go undrafted, their new G-League team will need to fill out a roster.

But they could also pass on him altogether.

Littleson has the opportunity to impress Detroit’s front office in his pre-draft workout. His performance there will go a long way towards how Weaver and his staff view the 23-year-old prospect.

Whether the team ultimately decides to draft him, or not, Littleson is definitely on their radar leading into the 2021 NBA Draft.
