The fate of the Detroit Pistons could be changed tonight in the NBA Draft Lottery.
I don’t think it is an overstatement to say that this is one of the most important lotteries in team history ,as the Pistons are poised to jump back into contention and bring an army of excited fans with them.
They just need a little bit of luck.

What are the Pistons lottery odds?
The Pistons have the best chance of landing a top pick, with a 14 percent chance to do so and they have a 52.1 percent chance of landing in top four.
That means the chances of dropping to 5th or 6th still remain, but even if the worst-case scenario happens and the Pistons drop to 6th, they can probably still get a good player, but may miss a chance at a superstar.
Reactions to picks 1-6 will range from unfettered joy to complete devastation, so there is plenty at stake for the team and the fans.

Fans of the Detroit Pistons don’t really need to start watching until we get to the sixth pick, which is when we will know if the Pistons once again got hosed, or if they have a chance to land a superstar.
If Detroit’s name is not called for the 6th pick it is time to start jumping for joy, as it as least means the Pistons will have a chance at one of the top-five guys in a draft that is thought to have at least five impact players.
If the Pistons aren’t called at 5th, get even more excited, as there is really a top-four in most people’s minds, as Jonathan Kuminga is raw and flying under most team’s radars.
Every step above that would be gravy, and if the Pistons can land in the top-3, they will almost certainly get a player who will make an impact and could vault them back into contention sooner rather than later.
