Detroit Pistons: Look at the potential starting lineup next season
Detroit Pistons starting lineup: Shooting guard Cade Cunningham
Ok, I know I said my pick for the Detroit Pistons might surprise some people. I lied. Lets be honest, Cade Cunningham is arguably the most talented player in this draft and would fit perfectly into what Detroit is building.
Assuming the Pistons make the correct choice and draft Cunningham first overall, he would be a great fit alongside Killian Hayes. The two would basically be interchangeable in the 1 and 2 spots.
As a 6-8 point guard, he could be used in a variety of positions. He is a three level scorer and makes the open pass more often than not. He was consistently drawing double and triple teams in college, allowing his teammates to get open shots.
At 19 years old, he would be an asset too valuable to pass up. I can already envision him dishing out passes to another member of our young core.
Detroit Pistons potential starting five: Saddiq Bey at small forward
Saddiq Bey exceeded everyone’s expectations last year by breaking rookie three point records and making the All-Rookie team.
He’s proved that he can be a legitimate threat in the NBA and still has room to improve. Bey has shown versatility, being able to play multiple positions on the court.
At 22 years old, Saddiq is actually one of the older members of this potential starting five, but is still young enough to have a long career ahead of him.
Saddiq Bey spent his rookie season primarily scoring from behind the arc, but showed he can do damage under the basket as well. He plays solid defense and is a valuable asset coming off of an incredibly strong season.
