Detroit Pistons: NBA Mock Draft 5.0 pick No. 13

Pick Analysis. Small Forward. Gonzaga / Indiana Pacers. Corey Kispert. 13. player. Scouting Report. 100

Kispert makes a ton of sense for the Pacers for a number of reasons.

They are keen to get back into the playoffs soon especially after hiring veteran coach Rick Carlisle, who did not come there to be part of a rebuild.

Kispert would not only replace the shooting they will lose if Doug McDermott leaves in free agency, but is an experienced player who will be ready to come into the NBA and compete right away, which is something the Pacers need.

If the Pacers decide that this team has maxed out its potential then they could try to move this pick, but a late lottery pick probably won’t move the needle unless they packaged it with a player in a trade.

The Pacers will do the safe thing and take Kispert, who doesn’t have the highest ceiling but already has an NBA-ready skill.
