Detroit Pistons: NBA Mock Draft 5.0 pick No. 14

With their second pick from the Warriors trade, the Wizards will grab their point guard of the future in Josh Giddey.

Giddey has been rocketing up the draft boards lately, as he is a 6-foot-8 point guard with a high skill level who is already a gifted playmaker and rebounder.

Even if the Wizards don’t trade Westbrook, Giddey gives them another playmaker and a guy they could eventually pair with Davion Mitchell. There is a lot to like about a Giddey/Mitchell backcourt and the Wizards might actually be better with the quality depth they get from the Warriors.

A lineup of Westbrook, Mitchell, Wiggins, Hachimura and Wiseman would be pretty fun and would also leave the Wizards with a deep bench that was full of playmakers.

If they want to start over, this is one way to do it, as they could still compete for a playoff spot with this roster while developing young talent at the same time.
