Detroit Pistons: NBA Mock Draft 5.0 pick No. 16

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Forward/Center. Texas / Cleveland Cavaliers. Kai Jones. 16. player. 156

The Cavaliers will use the second pick they got in the Thunder trade to grab Kai Jones out of Texas, a move that would allow them to move on from Jarrett Allen and clear some future cap space.

Jones is still raw, but he is a plus athlete who can run the floor, block shots and projects as a guy who will eventually have 3-point range.

This would give the Cavaliers a long and athletic defense that could match up with almost anyone and would still have two very good scoring guards to carry the offense.

Of course, if the Cavs decide to move on from Sexton instead, this will all be moot but they could trade down, still pick up talent that fits with their roster and compete while they are developing their young talent.

It would be a risk for sure, but if the Cavaliers want to stick with Sexton, this is a move to consider.
