NBA Mock Draft 5.0 pick No. 2

169. Scouting Report. Power Forward/Center. Evan Mobley. 2. player. Pick Analysis. USC / Houston Rockets

Like the Detroit Pistons, the Houston Rockets won’t overthink this one, though there are some who think Jalen Green is the pick here.

Mobley’s combination of elite defense and unique offensive potential make him too good to pass up.

He will pair well with former Piston Christian Wood and All-Rookie small forward Jae’Sean Tate and the Rockets will still have plenty of ways to add additional talent in the draft, free agency and via trades.

It doesn’t look like the Rockets will be down long, and they too will have an exciting young core to build around for the future once they draft Mobley.
